Unlike modern cars with NO flow thru ventilation eg VR-VX commodes, the old HQ can get by without even a fan ! That's why modern cars need aircon.

Hi trubluhq.

The HQ holden was the 1st Holden WITH flow-thru ventilation. It had face-level dash vents & outlet vents in the rear door openings. They also had no glass quarter vents on the front doors.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

The factory manuals for the HQ have very detailed drawings of the direction of airflow throughout the cabin and boot area.

I never knew how much thought and planning actually went in to designing the air circulation system on a car. Quite an eye opene

I had visions of modifying mine to fit HG or something quarterwindows. Flow through just does not work properly in the heat of australia.

Ummm, how would a mechanic test the demister to see if it was working anyway?

I am doubting they are going to stick a voltmeter across it....

They just see if its blowing hot air onto the windscreen, in the mini's with out heaters they just used a 12 volt hairdryer up under the dash:) These units are cheaper than the vintage air units, guess see if blokes run them and if they cool a large 4 doo
