Hello all, Im lookin g to put a vn turbo 700 behind my 253, (WB UTE)I am either going to run a adapter plate, or have the bell housing welded and redrilled if I can find the right person in perth that can do this (I know I could get it done in melbourne) Having no expeience with a turbo 700 box, what do I look for when out shopping in the wrecking yard Id or model numbers ??? anyone know, electrical plugs to look out for and speedo drives??? I am assuming vn had a traditional speedo drive??? or the housing will take a traditional speedo drive??? The converter, anything I should know about the converters, electrical lock up on the vn???? therefore is there some type of electical contact plates and wires involved???? (I dont know never seen one) The fourth gear clutch pack I assume is inside the box, or does it acheive 4th gear via lock up converter alone??? If anyone has done what i am proposing, then perhaps you could drop me a line at [email protected] with any info that will help me out

The VN/VP V8 TH700 has a cable speedo drive on it, and you can hook a HQ-WB TH350/400 speedo cable straight to it. You will then have to play around with driven gears to get the ratio right. |

Hi all Ive looked at a turbo 700 out of a vn or so the guy said, but it has an electical connector on its body and where the speedo goes is another electrical pick up, so I take that this is an electronic controlled box out of a vr or vs, the question is,

Hi Guys.
The electronic speedo sensor will unscrew leaving a standard threaded fitting for a GM style (TH350/400) cable to screw straight on & yes there are aftermarket torque converter lock-up kits available to connect to the box.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
