I have a Saginaw power steering pump on my Camaro, it is very light in it's turning control and really dont feel the road too well through the steering wheel. I literally have to turn the steering wheel back from making any sort of turn. I have what looks like the same pump in my HQ Statesman - however the feel of the Statesman's steering ****s all over that of the Camaro, which I find odd, as the steering conversion left to right in the Camaro is all HQ components.
Any thoughts out there on why this might be.

Had another good look at the steering in the Camaro, checked the measurements of tie rod ends to the hubs, found nothing there. What I have discovered is the steering shaft coupling is not an HQ coupling, it's actually a steel universal joint - probably m

Check the CASTOR as well as camber. Neg castor will give lighter steering, while positive will make the steering heavier.

Hi Greg,
I have a second gen Camaro 79 Z/28. The conversion was done in Melbourne and they did a great job on it, it a mirror conversion. I'm sure the reason the uni joint steering shaft connector was used - was because the header pipes were so close to
