Sorry, don't know but you can buy an original lower column bearing from Coventry's. I bought one a couple of months ago.

What I am particularly interested in finding is an upper column bearing replacement...

Cheers...Dave

Hi Scott,

Would you have the part number for either of those bearings. I found out on the weekend that I need to order a couple of sets. The top one in my SS has lost all it's ball bearings.

I think I'll have to pack the one in the Qute with grease to take most of the play out

By "shim", I mean you put the thin copper strip in between the bearing and the column housing - i.e. cut a strip of copper that will wrap around the outside of the bearing (no overlap) and then press the entire assembly into place. I just used a hammer an

Cool bananas Paul...thanks. I have been to Coventrys about the bearing but they said that the upper bearings have been NLA since about 2003...and Cov's are usually better with Holden Parts than Holden...I'll try my local, friendly Holden Dealer's Parts S

By the way fella's, the number one cause of play in the top bearing is that the outer has become loose in the housing after years of wear. A new bearing won't fix it by itself; will need to shim the bearing outer with copper, brass etc so that it is a snu
