I have just snapped something in the column of my 3 on the tree HK. And my 3 speed is dead. I was having problems selecting gears so I serviced the gearbox. There was about half a litre of oil in it (which was like water) and after changing the oil, the gears still get stuck.
So now i need some info about what I can do/ what will fit. at the moment it has a 173 with a HK 3 speed what will bolt straight up? because HK 3 speeds in good condition are getting hard to find. I'd prefer something that bolts up to the same bellhousing. HT or HG 3 speed (i heard they were slightly different. all synchro??? HQ-HZ 3 speed? 4 speed?
Since the column is stuffed I was just going to convert to floor shift any help would be great

If you're in Adelaide I can sell you a complete column from a HG Kingswood for $50 including linkages etc.
It's a 3 speed, currently bolted to a 186 so it should fit no problems.

Hi sot.
If it's an HK it's most likely a 3-speed crash box (no synchro on 1st). The 3 sp all syncro was an option for HK but not common. It is standard though on both HT & HG.
It's probably jusy as easy to get a complete 3nd hand, column & box out o |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
