Hi guys after speaking with many suspension places I have decided I want to change the panelvan to a 4 link rear end.
i have heard that the sedans (HJ - HZ) have a 4 link rear. How hard would it be to adapt the van rear end to fit a 4 link and remove the leaf springs?
The 4 link itself seems to be cheap just the labour cost is high?
Anyone with experience in this would be awesome.
Thoughts would also be great.

McDonnald Bro's Racing do parralell 4 link kits to suit utes. this will take a bit of the guess work out of it.
talk to an engineer 1st. dont bother asking anyone else, they wont give you the same answer as the engineer, engineers think in weird ways s

I would first be asking you why you wish to go this route? Fair enough that the Van will see handling Probs but with todays Roll bars. A lot of this could be solved.
Unless your running it down the strip?

nah not for drag racing.
building her up as a super cruiser!!!
basically i want a mean looking panelvan that has enough go to be respectable (which i think my engine combo has) and just be a smooth ride for cruising.
so i am planning on airbaggin

Rather than fit a sedan rear end to the van it might be easier to fit a Jag rear end to it.
Advantages would include coil spring independant rear end with disc brakes, strong diff & the same wheel stud pattern as HQ-WB & it's a self contained unit so |

yeah no worries.
as i said before i have contacted lots of suspension & air bag 'specialists' and have tried to sort out the BS from the truth. problem is the airbag industry is pretty new in australia.

There is also the "Ladder Bar" approach! Unlike the Complex 4 link, The Ladder's are a little more forgiving with street cars. I recall reading this on several times regarding the Pro's and Con's between the two Linkage systems.

I was aware of the floor reinforcing but I am using an additional cross member instead of floor reinforcing.

Arh then ya half way to the finish line then. lol Still the Ladder bar is an option, You still could use your idea of the Added X-member.
