VR Statesman Steering stiff advice please

The steering on my car is reallly stiff and making a winy noise when i turn iv topped up power steering fluid b ut still hapening. Is it deffinitly the steering rack or something else anyone with an idea on costings

VR statos have variotronic steering, and the pressure (and therefore assistance) is controlled by the pressure modulator solenoid (which is controlled by the BCM in relation to road speed).

Hi Guys.
If the solenoid or the electronics fail on a Variatronic system you still get quite a bit of power assistance. I certainly wouldn't call it 'really stiff'.
