I have a VH 253 that is a bit floaty at 100 km/h on country highways.

What can I do to make the front end a bit firmer without lowering the car?

Are my shocks stuffed?

James

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Hi James,

New Strut inserts (front shocks) should definitely help.

You should also be able to get heavy duty, standard height front springs if you want it firmer still.

The rears are easy. The fronts need to be done by someone that knows what they are doing. There is a lot of spring pressure behind that nut on top of the strut.

If you get the strut inserts (rather than rebuilding the struts), IMHO, they are not THAT hard to change over. You do, however, NEED a pair of spring compressors.

I got out the manual last night and it said the strut assembly will come out with the spring but to change the insert the spring needs to be compressed.

Will go to SuperCheap to check prices today on the compressors and gas inserts.

Will also go to
