i am pretty sure mines a chev pattern? are they the same length? holes etc? t4>t7 its a v8 as well does that make a difference?

You must buy the V8 one to be chev pattern. the V6 ones are not V8 chev pattern.

all access, i mean, yoke($80), speedo cable($70), shifter and cable ($150)
roughly...

Not sure on length, never done the conversion. But they look very simular in len

TH400 uses a bigger yoke than all the rest. Both are longer than a trimatic/TH350. I think the TH700 is slightly longer than the TH400 though.
As far as compatability goes, it's like chalk and cheese. The TH700 is a featherweight in strength compared to

The T700 is roughly equivalent to the strength of a T350, but obviously has the lock up convertor. Why are you getting rid of the T400, I think you can get an after market lock up convertor for these from B&M.

Hi JBM,
I am looking at changing to a t700, because it seems the cheapest way to get revs down on my transit?
it used to be a diesal, and have been trying to find a way to get revs down, via wheel size? trying to find a higher range diff??

hi muskell, thanks for the imfo re lock up converters?
i just put a v8 conversion in it,,
and because it has no computer garbage, i can keep it running, if it has a problem,
as far as fuel economy goes, not much diff between 308>v6, especially on
more than basketcase than a bear!

yea ok......I see where you are coming from now.

but I think you want lower revs than 2600..........my 253 does 2400 at 100kms (dyno tested) and 1 tonners weigh 1400 kilos empty appox....a 308 I reckon 2200 at 100 would be more favorable.

The original rear axle ratio in the Transit will be something ridiculous like 4.50:1 to 5.0:1, that's what most of them were anyway. A good start would be a ratio something closer to 3.0:1.
