Just for extra info that I didnt explain, a lock up convertor is what is in the T700, it allows the torque convertor to spin at the same speed as the engine in a similar way to top gear in a 4 speed manual gearbox.

Hi a th400 as you prob know is much stronger than a th700 but it uses like 50Hp to run it where a th350 uses like 35hp to run. The th700 has overdrive. I had a lot of problem finding a drive shaft yoke for my th400 and it cost me55bucks that said ive se |

kieth,, bigger wheels? taller tyres? it is a 98,transit, cant get bigger wheels, or tyres, i have to have them made!! $100 buckaroonies each +new tyres!!! and it still wont give me revs on 308 i desire.

Yes T400 yokes are a minimum of $70 now. anyone know where you can buy new???
If you do go commodore diff outta VN / VP (good idea) Remember, if you buy one to convert, to get handbrake cables and the end of the tailshaft outta the commodore. - mek c |

hey thanks adam, I am thinking it will be easier to put whole axle in, as the transit axle is drum brakes, and i know the engineer said somethin about braking? I only have one thought though>>> is the vn>vp axle, okie dokie, as far as load g |

most VN / VP commodore V8 had option of 2.45 ratio option / factory LSD? It will cost you more to get a V8 commy one. i am sure the VN / VP V6 diff will be suitable for your application. width?, too dark now, and i am clean.

thanks adam, I was wrong with the width!!! it is 1430mm min, this allows for 25mm clearance, either side,, to wheel arch,s??

Ok from memory of measuring up a fair few diffs for my Capri. The XR-XY Falcon diffs are 1500mm wide. The XA-EL diffs are 1550mm wide.As with Commodores the VN diff is 1550 wide BUT the track is narrower than a Falcon because Commodores use a lot more bac |
