yep, im hearing that the dual planes are good for bulk torque, rather than power like the single planes, and torque is what im after.
Torque Power and Harrop are the frontrunners in this field, but are a bit pricey - $880 for carbs, $1100 for injection.

well guys, i just sold the injected 202 i was going to build up. im picking up a 304 short motor from a VN onwards (dont know which) commodore next weekend. pick and payless do them for $200. ill see what i can organise in regards to heads.

Try and get a late VR on. These are blank on the sides where VN-mid VR have 5.0L on the sides.

I actually think they charge the same price from any 304 from VN to VT, so if i can find a VT 304, then bonus clearanced and roll

Yes. The blank sided blocks already have the rod reliefs for the 5.7L crank.

if i cant find one, then im not going to stress to much, because it wont take much to clearance it, and if i use H-Beams (down the track) I need the clearance the VR-VT blocks anyway, as they are clearanced for I beams only.

Zero deck height, usually says to me 10:1 , 11: 1 comp ratio with stockish mild heads.
i.e with 350
712 cc bore : 70 cc head + gasket cc (4 cc?).

Id use a forged piston. Hyperutectics are just a higher class forged piston, but they still shatter the same. I saw a guy(just after hed given me a lecture on how good his hyperutectics were) go out for a run at Wbank. It grenaded in the burnout. When he
