yep, im hearing that the dual planes are good for bulk torque, rather than power like the single planes, and torque is what im after. Torque Power and Harrop are the frontrunners in this field, but are a bit pricey - $880 for carbs, $1100 for injection.

Try and get a late VR on. These are blank on the sides where VN-mid VR have 5.0L on the sides.

Ill try, but the guy at the wreckers said they only come in from time to time. do you mean from a clearancing point of view? I actually think they charge the same price from any 304 from VN to VT, so if i can find a VT 304, then bonus clearanced and roll

Yes. The blank sided blocks already have the rod reliefs for the 5.7L crank.

if i cant find one, then im not going to stress to much, because it wont take much to clearance it, and if i use H-Beams (down the track) I need the clearance the VR-VT blocks anyway, as they are clearanced for I beams only.

Umm, my plan is to go turbo later on, but lets just forget about that for now, because building a bottom end that will cope with the power will cost me way more than i can spend.

it's supposed to be a daily driver, and i was leaning towards a forged piston, but they are just way too expensive for my budget. i understand that hypers aren't as strong as forged, but it's not a drag engine. it's for the street. studs are a must, and i
