Hi John,

It might be a common fault like the XC Fords, when fitted with after market air conditioning. It drains the battery by not re-charging it properly.

I solved my problem by changing standard 55 amp alternator to 80 amp, but still should have

Hi john.

What type of alternator is it, does it have a separate (external) regulator mounted on the radiator support panel or is it internal. Originally HQs had the external type. If you've already fitted a recond alternator, it could be a faulty regul
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Hi JOHN.

If the brightness of the alternator light changes when you select reverse, your ignition fuse is blown. This is why the light is on. The alternator will be OK.
