Hi lawrence.

There is no such thing as a Canadian grey motor, if you are referring to the Holden 6. The only ones made in North America are the 2 (or was 3) original prototypes & these are cast in Michigan USA, not Canada.

What about factory auto GTS327? Or the one doing the traps for years that no 307 4spd HK was ever made.

The one about the 307 manual not being available, was a mistake by one of our better known motoring journos. He read an early HK sales brochure (pre-Monaro) which states that the Powerglide was mandatory with the 307 V8, because back then no S

HP on the early 179 and 308 blocks is certainly true. The myths are all about it actually meaning anything other than 179 or 308.

Now i had a HP 308 block. i do believe it had a steel crank. i taped the top of the crank with a hammer and it rang like a bell, the other 308 crank did not ring. the crank had HP on it where the other had 308. the HP had forge marks 3 to 5mm wide, the ot
