How can you tell if a 350 sbc is 4 bolt main without having to take sump off? I have been told in the past that if the engine No. finishes in (010) that it is a 4 bolt main. Is this true?

Tis he who asks that finds out................

010 (or 020) blocks have an additional 1% tin and 2% nickel added to the cast iron. You hear 010 4 bolt a lot as they are the stronger more desirable blocks. 010 or 020 will be stamped under the timing chain cover or on the back top ledge, it is not part

Thanks for your help PISTOF.
But what should that raised number be to determine 2 or 4 bolt?
Will it say 4 bolt or 2 bolt or special number sequence?
