How can you tell if a 350 sbc is 4 bolt main without having to take sump off? I have been told in the past that if the engine No. finishes in (010) that it is a 4 bolt main. Is this true? Tis he who asks that finds out................ Edited by user Saturday, 11 October 2008 1:30:48 AM(UTC)

untrue. they came in 2 or 4 bolt main, i have a 2 blt 010 high nickel block. cheers.

010 (or 020) blocks have an additional 1% tin and 2% nickel added to the cast iron. You hear 010 4 bolt a lot as they are the stronger more desirable blocks. 010 or 020 will be stamped under the timing chain cover or on the back top ledge, it is not part
