Not real keen on traveling out of qld but probably the time of year to do it if i was to go.

Can't help sorry, no idea for the engine compressor, but your best bet would be to buy a rusted HQ with integrated A/C and transfer it all across. You'll probably have to replace some of the vacuum operators and you'll need a new drier then get it all plumbed up and gassed. Am aircon bloke will be able to guide you on how to clean out the old parts for new gas.

I've fitted several VN-VT V8s to HQ-WBs & with those the factory compressor fouls the steering box, so you need to relocate the comp. & make new brackets etc. However on the V6 engine, the compressor is on the opposite side of the engine so it may well clear the chassis rail.

If this is the case you can just use the factory V6 compressor, mounts & belt drive etc. Has anyone tried this ?? If it does foul, you will need to invent a new mount & drive set-up.

Once you've got the compressor sorted the rest is a bit of a fiddle also. As HK1837 has said, you could source an HQ integrated system, fit that & plumb it up to the V6 compressor. These HQ systems are now very difficult to find in complete & working condition so another solution may be needed.

The last few HQs I did, I used an under-dash unit, but I fitted into the glovebox cavity (lid removed obviously). This worked well & you didn't lose any legroom.

The rest of the system, i.e. condenser (in front of the radiator) & the hoses are a piece of cake.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Dr Terry is correct that these are getting harder to find. Here is a link to a generic underdash unit that you can fit and plumb. They sell all the outlets, controls etc although with a HQ you could use an A/C dashpad and use the in-dash outlets. Have a look around on their site for ideas on how to fit, noting these are designed for LHD vehicles but will work in RHD applications with a little ingenuity.

Here is some photos I found of a HX-WB conversion using what looks to be the GenII Compact system:
