The tag looks a bit battered and wrinkled if it's never been off the car, and I wonder about a coil with a 9/74 manufactured date for a car delivered on 22/8/1974.

Remember it's a Dandenong car. They are constructed differently to other locations at this time.

Not sure I understand what you mean Byron.
My point was that the books show a delivery date of 22/8/1974, and the coil has a manufactured date of 9/74, which doesn't compute no matter where the car was built.
It obviously matters to someone, or why the photo of the coil?
Edit - sorry Geoff, I edited rather than replied! Reply a few posts on.

Could easily be a replacement coil or dated in advance. It seems to have supporting documentation including the original dealer books and it's 1988 sale. The best part is the original owners name is there and if I was willing to spend that amount of coin, I would be chasing him up for a chat.

I had no idea the original post was about the coil as the link in the first post doesn't work - this is why I reposted the link.

The photo is most likely to show it has an original L34 coil which are rare.

The body tag is knocked around but the damage is consistent with a Dandenong car and how it is constructed.
