Hi all,
I have a 186 engine and have pulled it down.
5 pistons have a part number 7429479, this number is on the inside of the piston.
Other nubers sinside arre 10-4, 10-5, 10-8 (i think)
The last piston has RAZ202Z 040 10P 01 QE, these numbers are on top of the piston.

Is someone able to tell me what pistons I am running i this engine, standard or over size?
Are the 5 pistons equivalent to a 202 piston 4 thou over?
Is anyone able to help?
Thanx,
Bill.

You have 5 Holden pistons and one Repco replacement. You can measure one of the Holden pistons and compare it to the .040 oversize Repco to ascertain if they are all the same size.

RAZ202Z 040 10P 01 QE.

The 040 = 40thou oversize

202 uses the same bore size as a 186.

The 202 & 186 share the same bore size, but the gudgeon pin height is different. This means that they are NOT interchangeable or "equivalent".

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
