I don't know the answer to the question I asked. Yes it was an option on HR but was it tested on the HR or maybe even HD or EH ?

I would have guessed it was actually fitted to a HD initially for Engineering purposes, Dr Terry may have a better idea. |

I think the first Opel 4sp box was an option and she only came in after the HR X2 came about. That 4sp box was made in Asia in a chook shed. I would say it was behind some Opel Vauxhall 6 cyl and fully tested over there, some difference may be so to our box behind the big 186.

HD to HG are also not steel they are alloy. They too had steel screws. The slats of an HD or HR grille are stainless steel while the centre bar is diecast alloy. AFAIK this style of grille construction, i.e. stainless steel slats with diecast alloy surround or centre was commonplace from FE to HR. HK onward contain more alloy. Dr Terry |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

The HA Viva was the first passenger vehicle that GMH sold in Australia with a 4spd manual transmission as standard but as we all know it isn't a Holden.

So that means the HT would be the first Holden with a plastic radiator grille? Edited by user Monday, 24 October 2016 12:27:22 PM(UTC)

That is correct, I was only commenting on the timing of HR vs HB, not the Opel box thing. Dr Terry |
