As you said, 64 viva was class winner not the outright winner. Cresta was classed as the winner in 60 but at Phillip Island. Car was in the Shepparton museum a year back.

The 1960 Armstrong 500 car was a PA Cresta. Byron, I'll email you some tag pictures.
A different PA was entered for 1961, but crashed on the way to the Island.

GMH came awful close to completing the Bathurst 500 miles first in 1963 too, the EH did well. |

I doubt it. Bert Cheney came close to losing his dealership over his involvement in the Cresta campaign, such was the G-MH disdain for racing.
A G-MH PRODUCT is a different matter.

Yes, again all in the wording! The S4/S5 was however very much a GMH factory race special but like the later cars wasn't officially entered or raced by GMH. |

As far as I know the S5 is the race version of the road going S4. I don't know the specifics, but will ask. |

Does Aussie made mean it can be assembled here? Or are you looking for steel being pressed here? Do the gearboxes have to be made here? Or are we talking imported boxes in local cars? First 202 Vauxhall The Vauxhall Cresta had synchro on 1st a lot earlier than the Viva as far as I know, but there may be earlier? You could be right with the blue flame but I thought it was a Siamese design like the Holden 6's. I think you are right with the Vauxhall 202, identical bore and stroke to the Holden 202. |
