I have just bought new Rear Hk Wheel cylinders 9/16 bore and noticed the ends are different these are flat where as the old ones had a cut outs for the brake linings to fit into what do I do, take these out and fit the old ones or just let these new ends just butt up against the brake shoes??.

AFAIK the ones with the cutouts are for vehicles with drum brakes all round and the flat ended ones are for vehicles with disc front brakes. The rear wheel cylinder bore size to suit with drum front brakes is also bigger than 9/16".

The brake shoes are also different to match the different wheel cylinder pushrods.

Do you have disc or drum brakes on the front?
