I have a 253 Holden engine and the camshaft and crankshaft has a some surface rust on the parts that the bearing goes on, can I just get some emery paper and remove the rusty bits or would I need to take them to an engine place. If I do need to have some work done would I need to take the block along to.

Take it to a machine shop and get them to linish it, and then measure it up. It may be fine.

Hi Antoni, I'll give the 400 wet&dry with kero a go first then get the new bearings to suit.
