Anyone know of any exhaust outfit that can supply/ship a new exhaust system for a HK with a 307 chev column shift auto. I'm after an original looking setup from the "rams horn" flanges to the tail pipe. My car is a bit off finishing but i'd like to be able to start the already run in motor regularly to keep it lubed and make it easier to move around. Distance/cost makes it impossible to take car to a shop at this stage. Thanks, greg.

Try Settlement Road Exhausts in Victoria. These guys: https://m.ebay.com.au/it...cfffb3c88%257Ciid%253A4
I’d try and get a replica GTS327 system, these were option N10 on 307 other than Brougham. Edited by user Monday, 30 October 2017 7:37:31 PM(UTC)

Thanks Byron, I've seen these guys advertised before for their mufflers. I'll give 'em a try and see if they do the whole system. I know the GTS327 system will make it breathe better but for my panelvan I'd prefer to keep with the single tailpipe out to the side as per original.

Read the text in the auction, they say they do a full system. |

the full system in the text is unfortunately for the 186S not the v8. Settlement Road Exhaust got straight back to me with a sorry no for the 307 exhaust. the search continues.

Thanks gmholdman, I'll give him a ring. The muffler is the same Byron the only difference to tailpipe is on van and wagon it comes out the side instead of out the back to stop drawback of fumes through tailgate.

That shouldn’t be hard to fabricate though. The only one I have is a mint system off a HK Brougham we pulled apart. The whole car was perfect. Simply modified the tailpipe for a coupe. |

I've got an original small diameter tailpipe off a wagon so I can get the bends in the right place, especially at the end as it's not a straight cut. it looks like a slice across a 90 degree bend. as far as your mint system, seeing as it's in such good condition, it would be easy to unbolt it without any damage and get it copied. If rare spares or a reputable exhaust shop got a copy you'd make a lot of Hk restorers happy.

It will be coming out eventually along with the 307, powerglide and 2.78 LSD banjo and all be stuck up on the pallet racking. I have located the original engine for the car too but it still hasn't changed my mind to upgrade it to 350, TH350 and 9" with hybrid 327 system (extractors, XY/XA GT resonators and the original back end). So when I get the time to pull it all out it could be copied then. Won't be probably until at least this time next year though. |

Hi-tech exhaust replied promptly with unfortunately another no. It's a shame you can't buy exhaust systems off the shelf for the old'uns but "such is life"

Better note or do they look the same as the 327 GTS resonators? Cheers Nick. Edited by user Tuesday, 7 November 2017 8:14:59 PM(UTC)

Nick, heaps smaller and offset pipes to one side so will work with the HK crossmember and extractors. Ideally XW GT resonators would be better as they are half the size but they are almost extinct and the damn GT guys won’t let me have any! |

You might have to get the muffler and tailpipe in, and trailer it to a shop for the front part, which is only pipes. Do you have the heat shield and rubbers for the hangers and the hangers? Rubbers: http://www.ebay.com.au/i...4133:g:xTkAAOSwSHZWde6V
Hanger and bolt: https://www.ebay.com.au/...5c4f:g:3dMAAOSw6YtZO23u

heat shield and hangers are in place. gm5735 is looking into possible copy of front pipes for me, so hopefully i'll get all the pieces together and wont have to trailer the car to a shop.
