Hi all,
I need to pull the Trimatic out of my HJ 1 Tonner, does the trans crossmember push far enough forward to enable its removal ?
Doesnt look like it will slide towards back of vehicle as there is a strenghtening beam running parallel with it

You have to support the back of the box anyway once the member is out, just jack it up and the crossmember comes out easily. If its been in there for a long time, use some Penetrene or WD40 on the screw ends that go through the rail brackets into the captive nuts on the ends of the crossmember. They stick through the nut threads and can bind up, end up breaking the welds on the captive nuts. |

Thanks, that was easy as the 3/8 UNC bolts were nowhere to be seen as previous owner had fitted a 5/16 bolt with nut on top of the captive nuts ! I quite easily chased the threads so unsure why they did that ! Can you recommend a decent replacement rear mount ?, lots appear on a search but most look cheap & horrible. Again Thanks in advance
