I was informed today that HK transmission tunnels are smaller than HT HG. Is this true as i always though they were the same. I do realise hk uses a different trans cross member

As far as I know they are identical. The only difference in the front floor area that I know of is the HK floor member under the front seats has captive nuts in it for the HK (and HD-HR) gearbox cross member. |

I had a look in the parts books. Front floors are the same part numbers between HK and HT. Centre floors are different part numbers (goes all the way back to the fuel tank), not sure why - but there are a 7 different centre floor part numbers for HT compared to 5 in HK. If there is something to what CRS says it will be in the centre floor, and it may only be one body shape eg ute/van. |

Where the trans goes is part of the front floor and those are the same. So I reckon its BS. I can tell you a TH700/4L60 doesn't fit without surgery, so I can't see how a TKX would. The only boxes that fit easily are Powerglide, TH350 and Trimatic, Aussie 3spd and Saginaw/Muncie (which need shift rod clearancing). |
