All
Been a massive amount of Spam accounts and Spam posts. I’ve suspended maybe 25 Spam accounts and well over 100 Spam posts. It has been relentless.
The current Rare Spares forum Admin (user dpandit) has enabled post moderation. Not sure what that means, but anyone who is a Moderator (there are only 9 of us and only Dr Terry and me have been active since May 2021) might have some work to do. Once I figure out how to “moderate” posts i’ll let you all know, and maybe try to get a few more new Moderators approved.
Could someone post or reply to something so I can practice? |

And its already working.
Dr Terry. If you read this, on the forum base screen click on MODERATE up the top. It will take you to a page with a list of UNAPPROVED posts for the forum general areas. Just click on any number that isn’t 0, ignore the reported posts list. You can DELETE or APPROVE posts. I just deleted another two Spam posts, and then suspended the new Spam Bot member that posted them. Eventually they’ll give up and move on hopefully and we can go back to normal. |

I saw a buttload of spam threads the other day, I try to flag them when I see them since I check this forum almost every day but saw how many and went "yeh, nah, not today"

What we did has stopped them in their tracks. A few Spam users registered after we did it but the Spam posts all queued up for approval and got summarily deleted. Some of the Spam users appear in the recent online members from time to time but they are all suspended until 2054 or something lije that! So cannot post. |

Could someone post or reply to something so I can practice? the several forums I moderate (travel, car and bike) all have moderation approval on new users 'first' posts... the first 25 NEW threads require mod approval but they can reply to existing threads Make sense? |

I have no idea what this forum can be made to do, I’m not an Admin. This works OK for now. Another one tried in the last hour, you can see the newest member name at the bottom of the home page. |
