From an earlier Dandenong, Melbourne assembled HK (so Belmont, Kingswood or Premier). Engine was completed on 11/10/67 in the Canadian engine plant.

Elizabeth, 1341 numbers into HK, Impala and Parisienne 307 and 327 numbers. Same engine plant as above and 27/5/68 assembly. Cast date code on the side will probably be something like 8D24.

That is a Pagewood (Sydney) 307 from basically the timeframe of the very first production Monaro and Broughams. Assembled in the Canadian (McKinnon) engine plant on 24/10/67. I have 2 x others close to it 1263X and 1264x, the former is a 1024 like yours and the latter is 1019.

You didn't happen to find yours in an XJ6 Jaguar did you? It is damn close to the original out of my mate's early Pagewood HK GTS, that is why I have kept both of these engines as we know they are pretty correct for his car. I know his engine was removed from his car in the Gunndeah area many years ago and went into a Jaguar.

Thanks for that, it's real interesting info! I just have block & crank which came from a shed clean out In Brisbane. It's still the original bore and will eventually end up in my ute.
