"But you must agree to buy one of each at the sample cost which includes tooling, don’t worry I will give you 20% off that should come in at just under $3 million"

You show me the tooling and Ill "show you the money"
$3 million...geez you must have a whole chinese city working for you!
Les...I reckon you are pulling my leg....they wont be ready by september will they...
As long as you dont blame the drought for R/spares price rises ill let you off.
GTS dash badge and HJ GTS silver fascia will do for now.
Seriously though if it wasnt for R/spares my HJ Coupe wouldnt be on the road.
Cheers....mario

The other problem with reproducing the HQ GTS instrument facia, is which one do you make.

The 71/72 has a shiny (almost chrome) finish to resemble a milled aluminium look. The 73/74 ones had a much duller grey finish to satisfy the newer ADRs. It was still the same moulding with the wrongly called fish scale facing but the milled look is hard enough to recreate let alone worrying about 2 different finishes.

An owner restoring his 73 GTS 350 to the nth degree wont pay good $$ for a 71 facia if he knows it is not correct, whereas the owner of the 71 GTS certainly will. If you only make one, you will have halved your prospective market.

Dr Terry.

Dr Terry
From the information we received from the original manufacturer they were the same tooling, with the later one being painted clear with a sight tint of black and green to dull them off to meet ADR’s. Unfortunately we were unable to the formula for the paint or the tooling which would have been nice.

There is no point in two companies making the HQ dash the market is not big enough, if somebody else is making this dash could you ask them to contact me, otherwise we may go ahead and make the same thing, which is not an ideal situation for either party

i shall pass your number on to him.

I know Dash Originals in Adelaide make reproduction dash fasias (laser cut Al)

They also make repo crash pads, door handles (both types, prem and king)

All top quality but expensive....

Check them out at dashoriginal.com.au

My HQ needs a new boot mat and the black foam tool kit container. Do you think that these can be added to your list?

$200 for a radiator shroud???? They are also not all the same from HQ to HZ and as he hasnt posted the part No. I would assume it is 9945214 which is for the HZ. I got a genuine Nos GMH shroud off ebay a while ago still sealed in the original box for $56.00 buy it now. Most HQ to HZ Monaros and Sandmans had the finger guard and no shroud. They only got a shroud if they were air conditioned.
