CAn someone help me please. I have a problem with my hg monaro drag link. I have the male type tie rod ends and the tube style tie rods. I have a 308 in the car and all looks ok. I have the right angle style original idler arm that ataches to the left side rail. My problem is that the drag link hits the bottom of the left side of the sump. I am at a bit of a loss can someone shed some light on this please

Not really much help here but ive just learnt that there is a diffrent drag link (I think, or its the idler arm) for aussie v8 and Chev. Your problem "might" be a mismatch of parts ?
Somebody else may know more on this as i only just heard about it yesterday when a local called in to seef i had a Chev powered K-T-G as he wants the bits to swap his 253 to a 307.

The HG parts book list 3 types of idler arm, power steering, common and 350 so this may be the problem

Are you running a stock gear box X member. Some after market X members or modified X members cause the gear box/motor to lean back too much causing the drag link to hit the sump. This also throws out the diff and can cause vibrations. Could also be a collapsed gear box X member rubber mount caused from oil soaking. Edited by user Wednesday, 6 May 2009 8:24:58 AM(UTC)
