I'm pretty sure that is a VR manual ECU and a VN Memcal. Not sure if this works OK?

It may not be the issue. I think you may still be able to use an 082 ECU with a VN memcal OK. The major difference is the serial comms rate. Send Commodorenut (Mick) a PM and he may be able to help you on this.

The VN/VP didn't have security, so potentially the VR unit is conflicting with the VN memcal?????

Im making a conversion document with all my problems and answers.

Is there a difference between the wiring of the hall effect sensor plug on VN and VR??

Does the red wire in the hall effect + line up with the black/white wire on the plug??

Ignition module is earthed to body.

I followed this --

Switch ignition ON and probe each terminal of an injector wiring connector with a test lamp to earth.
If test lamp lights when the probe contacts the light blue wire terminal, check the wiring harness for shorts to voltage between the

injector wiring connectors and the control unit wiring connector terminals D15 and D16.

If the test lamp does not light when the probe contacts the red wire terminal,a fault in the EFI relay or circuit is indicated.

If test lamp lights when the probe contacts the red wire terminal, proceed as follows...
Switch ignition OFF connect the injector wiring connectors.
Switch ignition ON and backprobe the control unit wiring connector terminals D15 and D16 with a test lamp to earth.
The test lamp should light when the probe contacts each terminal.

If the test lamp does not light, check the wiring harness for continuity between the injector wiring connectors and the control unit

wiring connector terminals D15 and D16...repair or renew the wiring harness as necessary.

I have power at both sides of the injectors (blue/red) when ignition is on. I don't have power at D15 or D16 (blue wires on ECM).. Someone has soldered a small white plug into these wires?? Check out the pic. Should I run a new D15 wire to injectors? And a new D16 wire to injectors? Does it matter which ones they go to?

After removing the plug and gaining power at D15 and D16.
I fixed the ignition/cranking power situation and now have 12v while cranking and ignition.. Well it's 10ish while cranking.

So far NO DEAL..

Still don't have spark or pulse!!.
Checked for codes got one flash followed by 2 flashes. -- 12 No spark pulses at CPU or else good system, no codes

Can someone explain how to test the spark pulse situation at the ECM ?? Because I corrected the injectors at the ECM side when I reconnected the blue wires.

I will replace the 4 wires going from ignition module to ECU.

Anyone?

I'm trying to follow these instructions except fitting in a 2000 hilux and having trouble with how the oil pressure warning light earths through the 3 wire oil pressure sensor. The negative off the lamp when earthed with the ignition turned on activates the warning light but when connected to the blue wire from the switch has no circuit to ground with the engine running or not.

Engine running the purple and red contact but nothing through this blue wire still

Any thoughts?
