All HD/HR tunnels are the same regardless of the transmission fitted, but what do you mean by a "6 sedan".
It was the EK, EJ & EH series where the auto had a different (larger) tunnel to the manual.

it gets a little fuzzy and confusing, as the powerglide crossmember in HD HR is different to the crash box. you need a glide crossmember to run an aussie 4 speed.

What about if you want to run a Trimatic in a HR? Will the Powerglide crossmember suit? |

Powerglide (6-cyl), Tri-Matic, Hydramatic, Aussie 3-Speed & Aussie 4-Speed all use the same rear mount position.
Aussie 4-Speeds will need some serious cross-member mods because of the shifter, but the others with virtually bolt straight in.

You actually said :"6 sedan" not " red 6", but I sort of gathered that you meant a 6-cyl anyway. If it was a V8, the tunnel & cross-member etc, may well have been modified as well.
If you're swapping a stock HR manual to auto, you need to use the auto cross-member. The tunnel will accommodate a stock 6-cyl Powerglide, but aTri-Matic has a few protrusions at it top rear, that may require some massaging of the floor frame.
But a Tri-Matic takes the same rear mount & tailshaft as a 6-cyl Powerglide.
