I have a full length auto console for a a HT but it does not have a small "hump" on the passenger side. I will be running a powerglide / 307 combo in the car. Can anyone please advise if I need one with the "hump" and if so what would my console be for? It has the auto insert. Cheers.

The hump is to clear the shifter. You can break the piece out and fit a hump from a damaged console, see inside of console for cut out indicator.

Consoles without the hump are for opel 4 speed.

Warren thanks for that. How would you recommend breaking the piece out (besides carefully)? How is the hump fitted - glued in?

cut out with dremel or similar. originally is welded (heat pressed) but you can just glue in, has a flange around it to sit inside the cutout

all auto consoles need this hump to clear linkages & also saginaw!!
only one that doesnt need it is exclusive to opel box..

i have some 'humps' available if anyone interested, or send your console to me & ill supply & fit it for you
