There were various wattages used over the years, but they only vary 5 or 10 watts so it's immaterial. The twin headlight units for those models were all 5.75-inch diameter.

The most common ones that I remember were the outer hi/low beams at 50/37.5W or 60/40W & the inner hi beams at 60W or 65W.

As I said, the wattage is not critical as long as LH & RH are the same & the lo beams suit RH drive.

The quality ones were made by Guide, Lucas, Koito & Stanley, (GM-H used Guide & Lucas at the factory) most of these are no longer, & the only ones left on the market are no-name Asian units, so NOS or 2nd hand is the way to go.

sorry to rehash an old thread......
what is the difference between the 3 pin 37.5/50W or the 2 pin 50W lights. I have both of these in the Lucas brand...do they both fit my HQ twin front?

The 3-pin ones are the outer hi-lo beam units & the 2-pin ones are the inner (hi-beam only) units.

On the high beam side, what about some USA repro sealed beams ?

I'm sure I've seen new repro Guide ones on US websites.

What do restorers in the UK use for restorations- maybe there's some decent ones available in the UK.

I think the USA high beams would work in Aus - but not sure.
The low beams no.

Other than that, I'm stumped.
