OK when I converted Dads old XF from an auto to a T5 I needed a completely different gearbox cross member for the T5 as the T5's mount was about 2 inches lower and about 2 inches further back than the normal XF mount.
So it might be an idea to have a look at the gearbox mount on a 6 cylinder auto XG ute or van as I believe that they still have the XF floor. Maybe even an XH but I think that they have an E series floor.
As for engine mounts you simply use the bolt on brackets from any V8 XA - XE and the mounting rubbers from any V8 XR - XE Windsor or Cleveland they are the same and will bolt directly up to your 5.0 block.
I'm doing a 5.0 into a Capri and I intend to use early 302W extractors with bosses welded in for the oxygen sensors and flanges for the cats so you might get away with XR, XT, XW XY 302W extractors.
Sorry I can't offer much about the A/C you may have to get pipes custom made to connect the ZL A/C to the E series compressor.

My only 5l conversion was with an auto au motor into an xg, auto didn't need any mods so I guess just get an xg cross member, engine mounts were as per above, exhaust was stubby mustang headers with custom lower pipes but e series are easier I believe due to the starter motor being on different sides, au ac never fitted because it fouled on the body

Was the XG cross member kind of horse shoe shaped and did it look like it would bolt up under an XD XE or XF? I'm just trying to satisfy my own curiosity here that's all as I have never looked under an XG. |

we were never trully happy with the exhaust, your probably best of posting on my other website www.xfalcon.com and asking there, i know plenty others have done the e series conversion the stubby mustang headers bent a bit worked, cant remember which one we used but it was from vpw http://www.vpw.com.au/pr...rCatID=834&PrdGrpID=4353again this was au motor not e series couldnt get a fix for the aircon, was considering custom fitting an older compressor but never looked into it, we just never ran aircon

You could ask this fellow some questions regarding exhaust and A/C. http://www.allclassified...display-ad?cid=123230244 |
