the VR V6 has suddenly developed a couple of oil leaks from the engine. not gearbox oil. it has been standing for 2 or 3 days and a fairly large oil patch or 2 underneath.
I did hear there were some oil problems with the early v6s but thought they had been overcome.
where is it most likely the oil leak is coming from?
thanks

If it is leaking while just standing there & not running, it can only be coming from the sump itself. It may be just the sump plug washer, or the sump may be damaged.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

I was warned with the CV8, Cross 8 and also my SR5 V6 Hilux, that I should buy a new fibre washer everytime I changed the oil as they tend to leak randomly if not replaced. As Terry says this might be all it is.
