I dont know how to bring up the photo but search for "HK ute project" on this site and you will see a photo of a HK V8 firewall with speedo cable hole. Hope this helps

The model number or the first five numbers of your VIN can also tell you if it's a six or eight.

James

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Not for HK James.

Only HT, HG & HQ have separate model numbers for 6 & V8.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

V9 HK have the speedo cable over below the wiper motor, towards the centre of the firewall. They will still have the 6cyl hole too with a speeod cable grommet in it.

Ok thanks. I'll keep that in mind.
These are the codes I have:

801 - Belmont 6
803 - Monaro / Kingswood 6
804 - Monaro / Kingswood 8
805 - Premier
814 - Brougham
818 - GTS 327

As you say these are also used for HT-HQ.

I haven't shown the ones that didn't reference HK eg 812 - Prem / LS 8.

James, do you have a copy of my '60 Years of Holden' book ?

If you do go to pages:- 40, 44, 48 & 55 & all of these codes are listed in table form, along with any optional model packages.

I have the 45 years book. My interest is mainly '70s models.

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.
