The baffle in my tank has come adrift. It possible did a long while ago. Im about to paint the inside and outside. I dont want to pull it apart, will this be a major problem.

I've seen heaps of them where they have been cut and patched to fix this problem. |

I have repaired a couple before without pulling them apart
Drill out the old spot welds with a qtr drill bit
Using wire, magnets, pry bars or any brilliant idea relocate baffle into position I then put self tapping screws through the qtr holes I drilled to hold it in place.
Then its a matter of plug welding up the holes
It take patience and a bit of luck but can be done

Ps Once drained and washed out a good idea is to use exhaust gasses from a running car to quell any petrol fumes
