Is the rear window on a HQ-WB Panel van the same as the style side ute of the same model range. I measured up a window that I believe that I have removed from a Toner and it measures longer at the base

HQ-WB Ute & One-Tonner have the same rear glass.
Panel van rear glass is different, but is the same as HK/T/G van & possibly HD/HR van ??
Style side ute, WTF !!!

Havn't heard that for years, decades more like it. "Style side" is an old 1930's to 60's way of describing a coupe ute as opposed to a tray style ute. Edited by user Monday, 12 August 2013 5:56:52 AM(UTC)

Haven't heard it for years? Every second HQ-WB ute on eBay are called "style side" now. Grrr. Why people now think Australian utes have the same terminology as American pickup boxes is bizarre.

Maybe, like me, HGV8 hasn't bothered with ebay for years.
I though the only reason you would need to use the term 'style side' is to differentiate it from a 'step side' which are quite rare in Australia.
Here we have Utes & One-Tonners, no confusion there.

GMH called the C20 and K20 with a pickup box a "Fleetside", or at least the optional ute box was called a "Fleetside Pickup Box", possibly because Ford used the Styleside term for F100/F250? |

When looking at the van window rubber listings on Rares spares listings they do go through a lot of the earlier models including the hq's to wb's but none are listed to suit van AND COUPE UTILITY's (IS THAT the correct term to say FOR NOW???? , s*** I am glad I did not call a hz GTS a Monaro!!!!; P) of the same model to say that that the glass is one and the same. I just want to replace my glass as it is badly scratched, a bubble window seems an easier option cheers Ms

As Dr Terry says ute/tonner glass is different to van hence the rubbers won't be the same for both. |

It's just a UTE (or utility), you don't hear too many bothering with the name 'coupe utility'. What we are joking about is the unnecessary American Ford term 'style side' All that aside, I think that you missed my comment that the ute & One-Tonner rear glass is DIFFERENT to the panel van, so any rubber will also be different. I didn't think that we were that picky around here. To my mind the HZ GTS is a Monaro just by association, just as an HX LE Coupe is, but Holden never built a 'style side' anything. Dr Terry |
