The speedo in my HK appears to be slightly inaccurate, reading about 10-15% low. The car was originally a six but has a 307 and Powerglide from a Brougham.
Before I start dismantling, is there anything specific to check. The cable also appears to be kinked somewhere (bouncing needle and associated scraping sound) so that will need replacing as well.
Thanks in advance

Did the Speedo cable and Speedo gear come from the brougham as well? If it did, possibly the diff ratios were different from yours, meaning Speedo gear is not correct. |

If the speedo gears are also from the Brougham they match a 2.78 rear axle & 6.95 x 14 tyres.
You probably have a lower diff & different tyres, so some experimenting with different speedo gears will be needed.

Thanks, Gents.
The powerglide and diff are from the Brougham but I suspect that the speedo gear is from the original gearbox. eBay here I come!!
