David, you could probably benefit from the purchase of one of these;-

It is Warren Turnbull's new book & has all the plate info you need.

Unfortunately the 1223 won't be here, however all of the paint codes & interior trim numbers are there.

You can glean the Cordovan/Grecian combination be referencing the 10317/9562 numbers from the PAINT & TOP info on the body plate.

Yes, the 1223 is the GM-H code for that paint combination. Having the entire exterior (& interior) description all in one line makes life easy when processing sales orders.

It is easier than using the Dulux paint numbers. Those numbers are stamped on the body plate for use by panelbeaters when refinishing.

Mr Jones has already deciphered the codess, but the numbers that you've posted from the body ID plate are missing one line of info. This is a perfect example of where the first part of the TRIM number is of use.

You've only listed one paint number, while there should be two. The second being paint number of the Grecian White roof (listed as TOP).

This car is 2-tone (Grecian over Sandown Fawn) & the 882 is GM-H's code for that. Had it been Sandown Fawn all over (single tone) the first part of the TRIM number would have been 1135.

I almost forgot, yes David 229 is a Special Station sedan (wagon).

875 is Grecian White over Pemberton Grey
E55 is Dante & Mephisto Red in a Special Sedan

The 1st paint code should be 8568

Do you have a pic of the car it's from I haven't got one for Pemberton and would like to add to my O/H shed?
