Hi all,

Well I thought I had fixed the problem as the one way valve was sticking, however I still chugg a fair bit on petrol (especially uphill) and the diaphram in the Sprintgas lid doesn't open much at all, however it will hold open if I lift it up by hand with the car idling on petrol. Question I have is should I be able to lift the lid by mouth suction on the pipe? I can't and I think I can hear air at the diaphram while I try. Are these a replaceable item?? Any other ideas on what it might be?

Ta

Peter

The sprintgas mixer is a very bad design, you should remove it and repace it with a impco setup. It sounds to me that the diaphram is split in the mixer. If u replace it with a impco mixer you will have to replace the convertor as well. Impco systems use a

Thanks guys, might have to do that long term, but I need to get it working for the trip away over Christmas in the meantime. It's definately the mixer, I have tried alternate vacuum sources, checked all the pipework etc etc but the dam lid won't lift!!

Have sourced an 4bbl Impco snorkel and gas convertor from a local wrecker for $50, so that was a good score. So that will be installed in the new year. Will just try to get the existing one working enough to get through Xmas in the meantime!!

Cheers
