I'm about to replace the pads on an '03 TS Astra hatchback for a friend.
Haven't been there before on an Astra and I'd be grateful for any instructions for removing front & rear callipers and advice as to whether the pistons are push in or screw in.

Many thanks. DS

You may also have to change the discs (as from memory) they cannot be machined.

Thanx Stopgo & gmholdman, I was looking at that 5 point bolt hand wondering whether to take it out or not ! Saved my bacon. The discs are a little worn but I think they'll be OK until next time. It's interesting that the rear pads and discs have worn more

The reason why they are worn is because they are a European car
Euro cars have to conform to a TUV standard whereby they have to stop in a certain distance in relation to their weight from a given speed
The only way to do this is with high friction leve
