I just picked up a VN with 300K on the clock(one lady owner).
The motor has a rattle at idle. It is definatly internal, and sounds like a shaft of some sort.
Can anyone tell me if these motors are known for this, and if so, what it would be.
Cheers.

And also, the auto boxes in them can be a bit noisy with high km, so that could also be s

I know that you say its definitely internal but its also possible that you could be lucky and find out its the water pump bearings.
