So that does explain the difference between to two sets of date numbers on the carby. Early model - Late casting. Would 7043283 and 7043284 be 308 Manual and Auto carbys. Cheers Paul.

Can someone try to sort this out for me please? 17084595 1464 JHT. Is it for an American car or is it an 88 commodore? Or am I waaaay off? cheers guys Scott

I think I have most of it sorted,17084595= 1708=80s, 4=1984, 5= a california, 9=???, 5= auto. 1464=146th day of 1984. JHT=??? If someone could tell me what the 9 stands for and the JHT code is, that should be decoded correctly yes? cheers Scott
