G`day All,

I put electronic ignition in my 202 red motor last weekend, and after the first tankful (its my work ute so it does a few miles)there is absolutely no difference either way in either performance or fuel economy- what gives? so many people said it would improve both or at least one, but its as though nothing has changed, have I done my dough and been conned here or what?

It should perform no better than the points ignition, if the points ignition is tuned perfectly. However it will stay consistent always, whereas points deteriorate over time (between tunes). It should also give you better spark, but make sure you have 12V

And also re-gap your points to 1.5mm, instead of 0.9mm. I noticed little difference until I did that.

You should also have a smoother accelleration curve, and less dead spots than on the points dizzy.

Also, you will need to have the dizzy regraphed with the car on a dyno to acheive maximum benefit. Check that your vacuum advance can is working on the new dizzy.
