What makes a Chev cam change easier than a Holden V8 ? I find the Chev timing cover to be a mongrel job with the sump still in place. Dr Terry _______________________________________ The best argument against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter. |

i normally back the sump bolts off a bit especially toward the front on a chev to get that timing cover lip in. what is easier?? water pump (less bolts, of same length, and bolts that will actually take thread) inlet manifold (chev, ford , anything is easier to seal than a corroded holden v8) timing cover - as above, no warping or corrosion with chev chev fuel pump on block, holden V8 on timing cover. Holden single row timing chain??, - well that will need replacing. whats the date casting on that holden V8 anyway?? - Dunno, i cant see it because of all the silastik.
