Any one here know how the studs on the front of a bonnet are put on from factory. Rare spares have that kit but use rivets, wouldn't that leave a lump on the inside?

Thanks: 2 times
Well then, theres an opening for a repro item.

Panel beaters ain't too fond of those studs in the prep stages, but wish they were there in the fit up stage, lol.

you can still get them, they panel shop that have a electric dent puller to weld the puller on can weld the little studs on, but the problem lie in lining them all up or the mould wont fit, i guess they had a jigg of some sort in the factory, also im told with thicker to pack paint once painted you cant get the clip on??

Mate yes you can still get them , most panel shops i have worked in have had them, and the fittings for them on their spot welders using the single sided spot. Most auto paint suppliers , wurth ,can also supply the pins. Spotting them on an even level you could use a steel engineering ruler taped as not to conduct the weld current clamped to the leading bonnet edge. This would eliminate the rivet protruding inside the bonnet edge problem.
