Hi
I have a HQ GTS with a 350 an am looking at replacing the points dizzy. I have searched and googled and am still not clear. The car is only a weekend cruiser with a stock motor. I have read about the HEI dizzy's but need advice/direction on what I need and where to buy.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Get a rebuilt original HEI, not one of the cheap new Chinese made ones. They have the coil in the cap, and need from memory 3 wires run to them. You'll need a HEI coil too (in cap) and will probably have to bridge the start and run ignition wires together at the ignition switch.

Keith, give the guys from Pro Action Performance a call. Theyve always sorted me out with my dissys...do a sweet job too. If I were you I would get the points dissys rebuilt with a pertronix kit installed that way it looks all original but you get all the benefits and improvements of an electronic ignition. They also do fully rebuilt genuine Delco Remy HEI dissys as well as brand new chinese ones for a lot cheaper. Their chinese ones are much better than all the other ones you see because they build them from scratch in house and spin them up on a dissy machine and regraph it to suit your engine. That way they are all tested unlike the ones like procomp etc they come straight from China to your engine without even being tested. www.proactionperformance.com.au
