Why is the spark jumping from the plug cap to the coil on a V6? It still arks across the coil to where the lead plugs on even when the lead is pulled off. Its our excellent circle work car and is rubbish when it is only running on 5.

Measure the HT leads with a multimeter. My bet is that the no. 5 lead is open circuit.

Thanks for the replies. Will have a go at testing the leads when I get a chance.
